The Lower Jurala Hydro Electric Power Scheme stands as a major initiative in Telangana’s renewable power infrastructure.
Varks played a vital role in executing the civil works required to harness the flow of the Krishna River, transforming it into a dependable source of hydroelectric energy.

Scope of Work

  • Construction of a Weir across the Krishna River
  • Execution of 1.6 km Left Non-Overflow (LNOF) and Right Non-Overflow (RNOF) sections
  • Development of the Overflow Section and Earthen Embankments on both banks
  • Inclusion of De-silting Sluices and associated structures for optimal flow management

Outcome

The project delivers a 240 MW renewable energy capacity, significantly enhancing Telangana’s hydroelectric output while ensuring effective water management and environmental balance.
