Sewa-2 Hydro Electric Project – 3×40 MW

It’s a vital renewable energy initiative located in the Himalayan region of Jammu & Kashmir.
 Designed to harness the hydropower potential of the Sewa River basin, this project enhances regional electrification while demonstrating engineering resilience in demanding topographical conditions.

Scope of Work

  • Construction of the Power House Complex, integrating turbine and generator installations
  • Development of the Tail Race Channel for efficient water discharge
  • Execution of the Switchyard infrastructure ensuring reliable power evacuation
  • Associated civil and structural works supporting safe and efficient operations

Outcome

The Sewa-2 project contributes 120 MW of renewable power to the northern grid, strengthening the region’s clean energy capacity and demonstrating Varks’ ability to execute technically complex hydro works with precision and reliability.
