Jawahar Lift Irrigation Project – Stage I (4×17 MW)

The Jawahar Lift Irrigation Project (Stage I) was established to enhance irrigation potential in the Mahabubnagar region by lifting water from the Krishna River basin.
 Varks was responsible for the complete civil execution of key hydraulic structures, ensuring optimal water conveyance efficiency and reliability under large-scale operating conditions.

Scope of Work

Execution and construction of:

  • Pump House Complex including approach channel
  • 300 m Intake Tunnel and Surge Pool
  • Draft Tube Tunnels and Pump House structure
  • Delivery Lines and Cistern for controlled water distribution

Outcome

The Jawahar Lift Irrigation Project (Stage I) significantly boosts irrigation coverage and water reliability across Telangana’s agricultural zones.
